Video Editing

Reflecting on my journey, I’ve been blessed to create and share a diverse range of promotional, tutorial, and imaginative videos for clients, friends, and family.

Each moment captured tells a story of inspiration and connection, or teaches you something new.

The IMRF Awards 2019 - Ceremony Opening Video

The inspiring video – “IMRF Awards 2019 – Ceremony – Opening Video” was crafted for the International Maritime Rescue Federation to honour their annual IMRF Awards.

This remarkable event shines a light on the unsung heroes dedicated to rescuing people and animals from perilous waters, celebrating their invaluable contributions.

I felt a deep sense of pride in providing both print and digital support, as well as editing the videos that showcased these extraordinary individuals, ensuring their heroism was highlighted in the most uplifting way each year.

Tutorial Video - How to Log on ...

The following tutorial video is customised for the Trinity Episcopal Church Monifieth, when I rebuilt their website in 2023.

Not all people are website savvy, and I am happy to help in teaching them how to update their own website without having to hire an expensive Website designer/administrator.

Of course, certain big things still require a Website designer to amend the website quickly (certain functionalities you want to add, repair jobs, or your website requires a lot of maintenance), but I always believe that one should be able to help themselves where possible.

In this video, I discuss very briefly how to log in to the back of a website (without login details, of course, as they already have it).

Most of my videos are short and concise, or “chopped” into bite-sized chunks.

I also write manuals with lots of pictures to show how things are done.

And on occasion, I have also taught in person. I just found that tutorial videos and written manuals are the best methods, as one can always go back and rewatch/reread bits again at leisure.

Doctor Who Fan Video - Pure Imagination

Of course, I love doing stuff for myself as well and put my heart into it.

Here is a video I made in honour of Doctor Who, well over 12 years ago. Granted, the quality wasn’t so good then, but it was fun to make.

Wee Man - Funk Town - Animation Adobe Flash Exercise

In 2012, I finished my course in Adobe Flash, which helped me to make full animation videos and “moving” advertisements for emails, social media and websites.

The little figurine is based on the toy creature of the then-shown commercial by EDF Energy. I then started to play with the tools and functions of the Adobe Flash tool and created a musical video, just for fun. Some of the backgrounds are of Aberdeen, Scotland, or Zaltbommel, the Netherlands.

Of course, Adobe Flash has gone out of fashion now. For a long time, I also used GoAnimate, until their services changed for businesses only.

I still use tools in Adobe, Canva and other animation tool websites and create animations or advertisements when required.

These skills never fade and are so much fun to have!
